In the castle, everyone had left because it had gotten very late. Double D was standing outside of Adam's door, pondering what to say to him after Felicity had ran off to go back home.

"Your highness, I see no point of being in the bush," Double D pretended to talk to the king as he held one of Felicity's lost shoes. "I regret to inform you, sire, that the young lady has disappeared, leaving behind this gossamer slipper." Double D then felt confident and was on his way inside the master bedroom. "Yes, I'll do it," he was about to knock, but felt incompetent again. "No, I just can't..." Double D then glanced in the keyhole as he heard Adam laughing in his sleep.

Adam was sleeping soundly, but laughed and snored. He was dreaming about the grandchildren he always wanted. He was riding around like a horse with them on his back. The girl had on his crown and the boy had his royal scepter. Everyone had fun until the boy banged Adam on the head, and Double D was banging on the door to wake him up.

"Well, come in! Come in!" Adam allowed the preteen inside.

"Your majesty," Double D walked in, about to tell Adam everything.

"So, he's proposed already?" Adam happily shook Double D's hand. "Tell me all about it. So, where does she live?"

"I didn't get a chance-"

"Well, no matter, we have more important things to discuss. Arrangement for the wedding, invitations and national holiday, all that sort of thing!"

"But-"

"Here, have a jawbreaker, take a few more," Adam laughed, shoving candy into Double D's mouth to celebrate.

"B-B-But!"

"Better be right pass this early!"

"But, if you'd just only listen-"

"And for you, my friend." Adam took his scepter.

"King Adam, please."

"A knight hood. I hear by dub, you Sir-" Adam stopped for a moment. "By the way, what title would you like?"

"Sire, she got away." Double D finally got to tell him.

"She got away?" Adam was confused for a moment. "Peculiar title, but if that's what you... SHE WHAT!?" Adam was angry now. "Why you, you... TRAITOR!" Adam grabbed a sword to cut Double D up into pieces.

"Now sire, remember your blood pressure!" Double D backed up nervously.

"PIECES!" Adam slices one of the jawbreakers in Double D's mouth.

Double D gasped and ran behind the chair. "No, sire, no!"

"SABATOGE!" Adam sliced the chair as Double D headed for the table as quickly as he could.

"You were in the league with the prince all along!"

"I tried to stop her! But she vanished in thin air!"

"Unlikely story!"

Double D ran for the bed after Adam tried to smash the table. He still had the sword and was ready to end the preteen's life. Adam bounced on the bed with him, trying to slit him every bounce up.

"But it's true!" Double D insisted. "All we could find is the gossamer, inky black slipper!"

"The whole thing is a plot!"

"But he loves her! He won't rest until he finds her, he's determined to marry her!"

"What? What did you say?"

"Chip," Double D replied as he landed in the chandelier. "He'll marry no one but the girl who fits this slipper."

"He said that, did he?" Adam smiled and sliced the chandelier rope to make Double D fall, and he landed hard in the bed. "We got her!"

"But this slipper may fit any number of girls." Double D rubbed his head after his rough landing.

"That's his problem. He's giving his word, we'll hold him to it."

"No, no, your highness," Double D refused. "I'll have nothing to do with it."

"You'll try this on every maid in my kingdom and if the slipper fits," Adam held the sword, inches away from Double D's throat. "Bring her in."

"Yes, your majesty." Double D gulped.

The next day, everyone in the village gathered at the gates of Adam's palace to see the new posted rule about the girl who fits the slipper will become royalty. The girls were very excited, but they didn't know that their chances would be very slim. Back at the Chateau, Madame Medusa was searching high and low for Felicity.

"Felicity! Felicity!" Madame Medusa called. "Oh, where is that-"

"Yes, here I am." Felicity replied as she came through the door.

"Oh, my daughters, where are they?"

"I think they're still asleep."

"Well don't just stand there!" Medusa snapped. "Bring up the trays at once and hurry!"

Felicity nodded and quickly attended to her chores without question.

"I wonder what's the matter?" Alvin thought out loud.

"What's the matter with her?" Theodore noticed Felicity was a little stranger than usual today.

"I don't know," Alvin dashed with Theodore. "Let's find out."

Alvin and Theodore followed Medusa into Darla's room to see what was up. Felicity was acting strange, but Medusa seemed very concerned today. Both chipmunks found it puzzling and they listened quietly while Medusa woke up one of her daughters.

"Darla, Darla..." Medusa opened the door.

"What?" Darla was still very tired.

"Quick, get up this instant, we haven't a moment to lose." Medusa then walked for Victoria's room. "Get up, Victoria."

"What for?" Victoria yawned as the chipmunks spied in her room.

"Everyone's talking about it, the whole kingdom. Hurry now, he'll be here any moment."

"Who is?"

"The Grand Duke, he's been hunting all night."

"Hunting?" Darla asked as she came in.

"For that girl, the one who lost her slipper to that ball last night. They say he's madly in love with her."

"The Duke?" Victoria wondered.

"No! The Prince!"

Felicity gasped as she heard that and accidentally dropped her trays as the prince was mentioned. Medusa was alarmed by the noises and turned to see what had happened and glared at her step-daughter.

"You clumsy fool!" Medusa sneered. "Clean that up and then help my daughters dress!"

"What for?" Darla asked.

"If he's in love with that girl, why should we even bother?" Victoria added, nuzzling inside her blanket.

"You two, listen to me!" Medusa snatched the blanket. "There's still a chance that one of you can get it!"

"One of us?" Darla and Victoria asked.

"Why Mother, what do you mean?" Victoria asked separately.

"Just this, no one, not even the prince knows who that girl is." Medusa replied.

"We know! We know, it's Felic-" Theodore had his mouth covered by Alvin who was trying to shush him.

"The gossamer slipper with a black widow symbol is their only clue. Now, the Duke has been ordered to try it on every girl in the kingdom. And if one can be found, the slipper fits, then by king's command, that girl can be the prince's bride."

"His bride..." Felicity whispered.

"His bride!?" Victoria and Darla gasped, jumped out of bed to get ready and gave Felicity their clothes.

Felicity smiled and was in day-dream land as she imagined her lovely happy life with Prince Chip to get her away from this nightmare reality.

"What's the matter with her?" Victoria wondered.

"Wake up, stupid!" Darla snorted.

"We gotta get dressed!"

"Dressed?" Felicity snapped out of her dream world and handed the clothes pile to Victoria. "Oh, yes... We must get dressed..." Felicity then went to her room, bobbing her head slowly.

"Mother, did you see what she did?" Victoria asked.

"Are you just going to let her-" Darla asked, but was interrupted.

"QUIET!" Medusa hissed. Medusa then watched Felicity go into her bedroom. The red-headed woman had nothing but murder in her eyes as she watched the orphan and noticed the orphan girl had the same dancing as the mysterious girl with Prince Chip last night. Medusa then pieced together that Felicity just had to be the mysterious girl.

Alvin and Theodore watched cautiously as this situation didn't look good.

"What's she gonna do?" Theodore asked.

"I dunno, but I guess it's nothing good!" Alvin replied. "Come on!

The chipmunk brothers then hid and followed Medusa upstairs as she made her way for the orphan girl's bedroom. The chipmunks called for Felicity as she was brushing her hair, but she couldn't hear them very well. Felicity then screamed as she saw Medusa was right behind her and closed the door, locking it from the other side to keep Felicity from ever leaving.

"Oh, no, please!" Felicity pounded on the door. "You can't! You just can't! Let me out! Sil vous plait!"

Alvin and Theodore were outside the room and they saw Medusa put the key in her pocket and patted it firmly. She then walked downstairs which angered the chipmunks.

"Why that no good witch lady!" Theodore snarled. "She can't do that to Flick!"

"We've got to get the others," Alvin held him back. "To get the key, come on, we don't have much time."

With that, the chipmunks ran off to warn the other chipmunks and woodpeckers about Felicity's problem.
Poor Felicity! :( madame Medusa is just the worst, I wish I could just get rid of her all together! hmph! I only own my OC everyone else belongs to their respective owners, will Flick be able to marry Chip? :o
